   Roger Hunter, DVM

CFO and Co-Founder, Nirvana Hyperbaric Institute

Roger graduated in 1969 from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and went to work as an equine veterinarian at the race tracks in Northern California.  In 1976, Roger founded Equine Veterinary Services (EVS), a very busy and successful practice that he owned and managed until he sold it in early 2009.  Roger grew the practice to a total of five veterinarians with a support staff of eight.

Roger’s experience—debt collection, managing billing systems, managing staff, managing pension plans, and selecting and managing health care plans—with EVS has provided him with the ability to manage personnel and establish policies of operation for an organization such as NHI.

In recent years, Roger has also been involved in the creation of two nonprofit organizations for the care and health of equine athletes.  He is still the president of one of them, the “Northern California Equine Foundation,” which is a 501 C-3 nonprofit corporation.

Roger is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners and a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association.  Roger is also a past president of Kalaheo Palikai Home Owners Association in Hawaii.

Roger has attained his CHT status.
