Dawn Wafer, L.Ac. - Acupuncturist
Dawn is a long time Santa Ynez Valley resident. She graduated from Santa Ynez High in 1979 and has lived here in the Santa Ynez Valley for the past 26 years.
After 10 years of coaching gymnastics and training horses, Dawn seriously injured her back. This forced her to stop coaching gymnastics. Her doctors recommended surgery, but she wanted to try a more holistic route first. Using acupuncture, physical therapy, chiropractic, and bike riding, Dawn avoided surgery and became convinced of the healing power of acupuncture.
Dawn attended Santa Barbara City College and then transferred to Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine, where she received her four-year masters degree in Oriental Medicine. This included the study of Herbs, Nutrition, Acupuncture and Shiatsu massage.
She graduated in December 2006 and passed her state board exam in February 2007. She opened her Buellton office in June of 2007. Dawn recently started studying with Functional Medicine University. Her hobbies are horses, mountain biking, snowboarding and hiking with her three dogs. She has two sons 25 and 18.
